The Food Safety Authority of Ireland had recalled certain batches of Heera sesame natural seeds as they found out the presence of Ethylene Oxide which is an unauthorised pesticide. The EU doesn’t permit the use of Ethylene Oxide in food items.
There is no immediate health health risk when consumed but it can cause health problems upon continuous consumption. The batch codes which are recalled are 3G1271020, 3G2261020 and 3G1261020 which have a best before date of September 2022.
The product is of Indian origin and the lack sizes of recalled item are 1kg, 400g and100g.
