One more baby has born inside a flight. An Indian woman has given birth to a baby boy on a flight from UK to India on Tuesday. The Air India flight took off from London in the evening and the destination was Cochin in India.
Maria Philip was a passenger on the Dreamliner and she was seven months pregnant. She was not expecting the baby anytime soon but just after the dinner, she felt labour pain. The crew along with two doctors came to help Maria and four nurses were happened to be on board as passengers.
The doctors were convinced that Maria was going to give birth, they soon changed the catering room to a ‘labour room’. As the situation was an emergency, they used pillows, towels and everything available to help the young woman to give a comfortable delivery.
The birth was without complications, but being it was premature the doctors advised to get medical help for the mom and baby as soon as possible within next 3 hours. The flight was travelling above the black sea in Bulgarian sky way at the time. The pilots then alerted ground staff and they gave permission to land at Frankfurt airport in Germany.
The flight landed Frankfurt after two hours at 11pm and the mom and baby were transferred to nearby hospital. Both are doing well, according to the reports.
The Air India flight later continued the journey and reached Cochin at 9.45 am, late for almost 6 hours.
