Ireland set for warm spell with temperatures reaching 19C this weekend

Ireland is preparing to bask in one of the first significant warm spells of the year, with temperatures set to climb to 19C by Friday as settled conditions take hold across the country.

Met Éireann forecasts that Friday will bring “very mild or warm and humid” weather nationwide, with temperatures ranging from 14C to 19C, potentially even higher in some western areas. The national forecaster attributes these pleasant conditions to a high-pressure system that has established itself over Ireland, bringing “plenty of sunshine.”

The warm weather pattern begins today (Wednesday) with dry, mostly sunny conditions and temperatures reaching up to 18C. Tonight will remain dry and largely clear, though it will turn chilly with temperatures dropping to between 1C and 6C in many areas.

Thursday will continue the favorable trend with mainly dry and sunny weather, though a “freshening easterly wind” will develop. Maximum temperatures will again reach 19C in places, although parts of Munster and south Leinster may experience some showers by afternoon and evening.

Friday will see “some residual showery rain” in the morning before conditions improve with “hazy sunshine into the afternoon” across most regions. The day promises to be “very mild or warm and humid” with highest temperatures of 14C to 19C.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Met Éireann predicts temperatures will decrease slightly with some cold, clear nights. However, daytime conditions will remain “dry, sunny and very pleasant” with no more than moderate easterly winds, offering an excellent opportunity for outdoor activities across the country.
