Today, Taoiseach Simon Harris will welcome Moldovan President Maia Sandu to Farmleigh, marking the first visit of a Moldovan President to Ireland. This visit comes as Ireland prepares to open an embassy in Moldova to strengthen bilateral ties.
Taoiseach Harris will express Ireland’s support for Moldova’s bid to join the EU and commend President Sandu’s leadership in facing Russian aggression. He will also thank Moldova for its efforts in helping Ukrainian refugees and assisting Irish citizens during the Russian invasion.
