A man’s body was discovered on a mountain in Donegal.
The remains were discovered in the popular hiking and climbing area of Errigal Mountain.
The discovery followed a search of the area at first light.
The Irish Coast Guard and members of the Donegal Mountain Rescue Team were among those taking part in the search.
On Saturday, around 9 a.m., remains were discovered, which ended the search.
None of the deceased’s details, including his identity, age, or manner of death, have been made public.
Gardaí confirmed that the body has been removed from the scene and a postmortem will take place in due course.
A file will be prepared for the Coroner’s Court and gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
