Roderic O’Gorman has been re-elected as leader of the Green Party, reaffirming his commitment to rebuilding the party following a significant electoral setback.

O’Gorman, the former Minister for Children who first took on the leadership role last summer, confirmed earlier this month that he would seek another term.
He acknowledged the party’s poor performance in last year’s General Election, where it lost 11 of its 12 Dáil seats, leaving O’Gorman as the sole remaining TD.
In a statement, O’Gorman said that despite the challenging result, the Green Party remains “a strong voice for climate action, for supporting families and for equality.”
He pledged to listen and learn from the party’s losses in order to rebuild support across the country.
