Met Éireann has issued multiple weather warnings as Storm Darragh is set to impact Ireland with heavy rain and powerful winds.
A Status Orange wind warning is in place for several counties, signalling potentially hazardous conditions. Residents are urged to prepare for significant disruptions beginning tomorrow evening.
The most severe conditions are expected in Kerry, Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim, and Donegal. These areas will experience intense northwest winds from 10pm on Friday to 9am on Saturday under the Status Orange warning. Gusts could lead to fallen trees, power outages, and challenging travel conditions.
A separate Status Orange wind warning has been issued for Waterford, Wexford, and Wicklow. This warning is effective from midnight on Friday until 9am on Saturday, with similar risks to infrastructure and transportation.
Beyond the Orange warnings, other parts of the country will face Status Yellow alerts for wind and rain.
Met Éireann has advised the public to stay updated on weather developments, secure outdoor objects, and plan for potential disruptions.
Motorists are encouraged to drive with caution, particularly in the affected areas, where visibility and road conditions may deteriorate rapidly.
