In a heart-wrenching incident, four-year-old Ahana Singh, who had recently moved to Dublin from India with her parents, passed away on December 3, 2022, at Temple Street Hospital. The parents, Varun and Nalini Singh, had rushed Ahana to the hospital a day prior, as she experienced nose and mouth bleeding, accompanied by vomiting.
Despite initial tests and a prescription indicating a common fever symptom and minor chest infection, Ahana was released the next morning. Tragically, upon returning home, her condition worsened rapidly, leading to unconsciousness. Despite efforts, including CPR, Ahana succumbed.
An investigation, prompted by the parents’ complaint, revealed that Ahana suffered from a prolonged strep A infection, resulting in lung disease and sepsis. Shockingly, hospital authorities acknowledged inadequate care, and doctors have confessed to criminal negligence. The ongoing evidence points to a failure to provide timely and appropriate medical attention, raising serious concerns about the standards of care at Temple Street Hospital.
