Airport Hopper ends bus services connecting Tallaght and Maynooth to Dublin Airport

The Airport Hopper bus services between Maynooth, Tallaght, and Dublin Airport have been suspended due to financial difficulties, the operator has confirmed.

Airport Hopper Holdings Ltd told RTÉ News that operations were “paused” from 10 February as the service had been “financially unsustainable for a long period,” with passenger numbers too low to keep it viable.

Despite efforts to boost ridership by cutting fares, rising costs—including fuel, tolls, insurance, and airport charges—led to the decision to cease operations.

The two affected routes connected Dublin Airport with Tallaght via Clondalkin and Liffey Valley, and Maynooth via Leixlip, Lucan, and Liffey Valley.

All staff have been notified, and the company has stopped accepting bookings since 9 February. Customers with existing bookings will receive refunds.
