Akhilesh Mishra, the senior diplomat is appointed as the Ambassador for India to Ireland. He will succeed the now Ambassador Sandeep Kumar who is in charge since 2018.
Mr Mishra is a 1989 batch IFS officer. Formerly he has worked as Indian Ambassador to Maldives and as Counsel General in Toronto, Canada. He also holds a service record as the Additional Secretary in the Development Partnership Administration (DPA) from February 2020 to March 2021. Before that Mr Mishra was the Director General of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations for one year. Currently he is on special duty in the Ministry.
Sandeep Kumar is in charge of the Indian Embassy in Ireland in Dublin since 2018. Before that he had been appointed to different parts of the world in the line of duty including Croatia, Hong Kong, Paris, Cape Town and Kabul. From 2013 to 2015, he had served as Joint Secretary in the West Asia and North Africa (WANA) Division of the Indian EAM. Previously, he also served as Ambassador of India to the Republic of Croatia. He is a 1985 batch IFS officer.
