An Garda Síochána is the National Police Service of Ireland directed and controlled by the Garda Commissioner. The mission of An Garda Síochána is “Keeping People Safe”.
The Government has approved an overall vision for the Garda workforce to bring the strength of the service to 15,000 Garda members. The Commission on the Future of Policing in Ireland calls for a reflection of the diversity of Irish Society within An Garda Síochána, “Diverse not only in gender and ethnicity but also in the socio-economic, educational and geographical background”.
Applications are welcome from any and all backgrounds with a view of reflecting the increasing diversity of Irish society in 2023 and beyond.
