Two women had been granted bail with conditions by the Dublin Court following their arrest for resisting quarantine when they come back from UAE after a plastic surgery trip.
One of the two women have been tested Covid 19 positive. As a result seven rank and file Garda have been forced to be in self isolation as they were in close contact through out the course of the case.
The General Secretary of the Association of Garda Sergents and Inspectors (AGSI), Antoinette Cunningham said that it is unacceptable and unfair that even though other frontline groups in quarantine management and support teams have been vaccinated, Garda who have been engaging in high risk situations have been out of the priority list of vaccination.
The AGSI and Garda Representative Association (GRA) have requested the Taoisech to give Garda the priority to achieve Covid vaccination.
