The National Grand Finale of ‘BIBLIA 2026’, the annual Bible Quiz Competition organised by the Catechism Department of the Syro-Malabar Church of Ireland, will take place on Saturday, February 28.

The event will be hosted at the Riverstick Community Centre in Cork, with competitions beginning at 2 pm. Twelve winning teams from different regions across Ireland have qualified for the national stage.
Journey to the finale
More than 2,000 participants took part in preliminary rounds held on 17 January across 38 Qurbana Centres nationwide. Competitions were conducted in five categories, ranging from third-class students to parents.
Teams that secured first place in each centre advanced to the Regional Grand Finale on February 14. From there, the top three teams in each category earned their place in the National Grand Finale.
Prizes and sponsors
The live quiz will feature audio-visual rounds and audience participation.

Special prizes have also been arranged for winners of the audience round.
Community preparations
Hosted by the Syro Malabar Community in Cork, the event is being coordinated by the Catechism Department, the National Pastoral Council of Ireland, the Cork Regional Council and the Cork Syro Malabar Community.
Organisers have invited believers and knowledge seekers from across Ireland to attend the grand finale, describing it as an opportunity to deepen understanding of Scripture and Church tradition while strengthening community bonds.
