BioNTech and Pfizer requests European Union to approve their jabs in vaccinating children between 12 and 15

A request to extend the approval of Pfizer and BioNTech vaccines to include children aged 12 to 15 have been submitted to the European Union drug regulators. The submission to the European Medicines Agency by the companies pointed out the safety and effectiveness of their vaccines in more than 2000 young people.

The vaccine by Pfizer and BioNTech was the first ones to be accepted by the EMA for people aged 16 and above. German health minister had wholeheartedly welcomed their motive as he thinks it could make a clean difference to their vaccine campaign. Vaccinating the youth and children will be more effective and important in stopping the spread of the pandemic.

Vaccinating children may enhance the process of reopening the schools and make them cope up with the social distancing measures and mask wearing. Other vaccine companies like AstraZeneca, Johnson and Johnson etc. are also thinking on whether their doses can be used safely along children.
