Families all over the country are getting ready for Christmas as it is now officially Christmas week.
This week, shoppers will be stocking up on groceries and presents, which will make supermarkets all over Ireland very busy. The day before Christmas Eve is always busy for retailers as last-minute buyers rush to pick up any items they may have forgotten.
On Christmas Eve, Irish shops typically close early so that the employees can go home and celebrate the holiday. The following information is important to know if you intend to shop at the last minute:
Aldi
Aldi stores nationwide are operating extended opening hours of 8 am until 11 pm this week but they will be open from 8 am until 7 pm on Christmas Eve. Their stores will shut both on Christmas Day and St Stephen’s Day.
Lidl
This week, Lidl stores across the country will be open for business from 8 am until 10 pm. However, on Christmas Eve they will operate reduced hours of 8 am until 6 pm.
Similar to Aldi, all Irish Lidl stores will be closed on Christmas Day and St Stephen’s Day.
Dunnes Stores
Dunnes Stores are open for extended hours this week but the exact times differ from branch to branch. Most of their outlets will be closing at 6 pm on Christmas Eve.
