Customs discovered cocaine worth €1.4 million concealed inside a fridge in Dublin airport on Saturday. A customs dog named Laddie helped the officers to seize the drug which was inside a vehicle.
It was a joint operation conducted by Revenue Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau, and Garda divisions from Wicklow and Wexford led to the huge seizure. During the operation a vehicle was stopped and searched where 20 kilograms of cocaine was discovered.
One man aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene and he is currently being detained under Section 2 of The Criminal Justice (Drugs Trafficking) Act 1996 at Blanchardstown Garda Station. Investigations are ongoing.
