Cyclist in 60s dies in solo Crash on Ticknock Road, South Dublin

A tragic accident has claimed the life of a cyclist in his 60s on Ticknock Road, south Co Dublin, an area favored by both mountain and road cyclists.

The incident occurred around 2pm on Sunday, with no other vehicles involved. The cyclist was transported to St Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin, where he was pronounced dead. A postmortem examination will follow.

Gardaí conducted a technical examination of the scene, and the road has since reopened. Ticknock Road is known for its scenic mountain biking trail with stunning views over Dublin.

Authorities are seeking witnesses and have requested that anyone with camera footage or dashcam recordings from the Ticknock Road area between 1:45pm and 2pm to come forward.
