Dublin City Council has announced the expansion of its innovative video portal network to include Vilnius in Lithuania and Lublin in Poland.
Originally established as a video link between Dublin and New York, this portal now allows people in Dublin to connect with residents of these two Eastern European cities in real-time.
The portals provide a unique experience by streaming live video feeds that rotate every 180 seconds.
This offers Dubliners a chance to see and interact with people on the streets of Vilnius and Lublin.
The portal, located on North Earl Street in Dublin city centre, is active daily from 1pm to 8pm.
James Geoghegan, the Lord Mayor of Dublin, expressed his enthusiasm about the network’s expansion. He highlighted the positive impact the portal has had on the city, noting that over 340,000 visitors have engaged with it since its launch in May.
