Dublin pride parade brings major road closures and transport disruptions across city centre

Dublin’s Pride Parade is causing significant disruptions to road traffic and public transport services today, with multiple street closures and service diversions affecting the capital throughout the day.

Dublin City Council and Transport for Ireland have implemented extensive traffic management plans, with road closures beginning at 6am and some restrictions remaining in place until 10pm this evening.

Luas services face major interruptions, with no Green Line trams running between St. Stephen’s Green and Dominick stops from 10am to 5pm. Green Line services will operate only between Brides Glen and St. Stephen’s Green, and between Broombridge and Dominick.

The Red Line is similarly affected, with no services between Smithfield and Connolly/The Point from 10am to 2.45pm. Red Line trams will run exclusively between Tallaght/Saggart and Smithfield during this period.

Almost all Dublin Bus routes operating through the city centre have been altered, with pre-parade diversions running from 6am to 11.30am, followed by parade-time diversions from 11.30am until 4.30pm. Irish Rail services continue operating normally.

Key city centre streets face closures at different times throughout the day. Merrion Square South, Merrion Square East, Fitzwilliam Street Lower and Mount Street Upper closed at 6am and will remain shut until 10pm.

O’Connell Street Upper and Lower, along with Cathal Brugha Street, are closed from 8am to 4pm, while several quays and surrounding streets face restrictions from 11.30am to 4pm.
