In Galway, a brand-new bridge has been lowered into position over the River Corrib.
Nearly 20 meters downstream from the Salmon Weir Bridge in the heart of the city is where the pedestrian and bicycle bridge can be found.
It is a part of a brand-new transportation route that runs through the city and is intended to lessen traffic and cut carbon emissions.
The bridge is the first new Corrib crossing to be built in more than three decades.
It is situated halfway between Newtownsmith and Gaol Road.
An Bord Pleanála ruled that the development’s potential environmental effects were not likely to be significant in 2020. August 2021 saw the approval of the planning process.
The site has been under construction for a while.
The bridge was put together recently, and on Monday morning a crane lowered it into position.
