Holi Celebrations In North Dublin By Indian Ladies in Ireland

The Indian Ladies in Ireland group hosted the first-ever Holi celebrations in North Dublin.

The Indian Ladies in Ireland (ILI) group organized Holi celebrations on 5 March 2023 at Raheny, Dublin. This event was organized to keep the spirit of India alive in Ireland and promote women entrepreneurs.

International Women’s Day & Holi celebrations

The celebrations were a combination of the Holi Festival & International Women’s Day. TD Richard Bruton was the chief guest of the festivities. Speaking at the inauguration, TD Richard Bruton was delighted by the Holi vigor and excitement. Wishing the Indian community a very happy Holi, he also encouraged the participation of women in politics.

Mr. Bruton congratulated the Indian Ladies in Ireland group for promoting their culture in Ireland and shared with everyone his memories from his first visit to India in 1977.

With an experience of 40 years, TD Richard Bruton is the longest-serving TD in Dail (Irish Parliament) from Dublin Bay North.

Supriya Singh, the founder of Indian Ladies in Ireland thanked TD Richard Bruton for his kind presence at the event and encouraged women to always stand up for their rights. Especially mentioned in her speech were the ILI group and its team members for organizing and supporting the Holi & International Women’s Day events.

Dhanshree Kherde, Neha Misri, Sree Parvathi, Sujata Basu, and Usha Oruganti, were the team members that Supriya Singh gave immense thanks for helping to bring the event to fruition.

A mesmerizing Indian Classical Dance performance by Ruth Prithika made up the cultural part of the evening. Ruth Prithika, with her enchanting expressions and grace, showcased the various expressions of a Goddess in her dance composition, Devi.

Holi

Holi, one of the most popular festivals in India celebrates the start of spring. It is also a celebration of the eternal and divine love of Lord Radha Krishna. The Holi Festival, which also signifies the triumph of good over evil is a colorful occasion, characterized by family and friends daubing colored powders over each other and drenching people with a deluge of water.

The group has been organizing various social and cultural activities here to keep the spirit of India alive in Ireland.
