Minister for Health Stephen Donelly after a discussion with the HSE had announced that people who are housebound and eligible for the Covid 19 vaccine will get their first jab by the end of next month. They will be contacted in the coming days and will be vaccinated soon.
The second doses for the respective people will be provided by the end of June. The department of health is planning to implement a dedicated system which ensures everyone waiting for the vaccine will be contacted. Reports said that there are thousands of people above 70, still waiting for their first dose.
The National Ambulance Service are working hard with the high amounts of referrals associated with the program. They are hoping to double their capacity from the next week to make up the pace in delivering the vaccine. The time they are bound to spend at each home may hinder them from accelerating the vaccine delivery count.
