According to estimates from the Central Statistics Office, the harmonised index of consumer prices increased by 9.5% in October.

This “flash estimate” for Ireland is a portion of the comprehensive monthly estimate of inflation for the entire EU, which will be released on Monday.
The primary source of inflation in Ireland continues to be energy prices. According to estimates, they rose 13.6% in October and have grown 47.6% since last year.
Inflation increased by 5.9% on an annual basis when energy costs are excluded from the equation.
