John Sweeney is 10 years old and in 4th class in St Mochtas and a member of St Oliver Plunketts Gaa Club. He is very concerned about the issue of homelessness and never pass anyone on the street without wanting to donate money to homeless charity.
He has unique way for raising money for Inner city helping homeless (ICHH), they are a hands on charity who distribute hot drinks and sleeping bags among other essentials for those on the streets. John is walking 500,000 steps in 6 weeks in aid of the Inner City Helping Homeless Charity.
John has nearly hit the 400000 mark, and looks set to reach 500000 steps in 4 weeks, by doing approx. 18000 steps a day. Maura Sweeney is organising this fundraising appeal on behalf of Inner City Helping Homeless.
On 28th February members from Blanchardstown walked 9000 steps alongside John Sweeney and his Family from Blanchardtown Station, through Coolmine, Carpenterstown and Laurel Lodge, back to Blanchardstown station.
There motto is “never look down on someone unless you are helping them up”. John is aiming to complete 500K steps by the end of March and would be very grateful for any donations for this worthy cause.
Great work John, you are true inspiration for all and keep up the good work for the nation.
