Primary School Fire Safety Poster Competition

Dublin Fire Brigade has announced a Primary School Fire Safety Poster Competition as part of National Fire Safety Week is running from Monday 17th October to Sunday 23rd October.

National Fire Safety Week is a joint venture between the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS), the National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management (NDFEM), and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, and is being launched virtually/online on Monday the 17th of October 2022 by Minister Daragh O’Brien and NIFRS.

We’d love to see your children’s artwork if they enjoy painting or drawing. There are some great prizes to be won, as well as the opportunity to meet their local firefighters, said the organizers.

This year the main theme is ‘Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives – Have you a plan if yours goes off?!’.

Competitions will be held in many categories, Junior Infants, Senior Infants, and first class

Second, Third and fourth class, Fifth and Sixth Class

Each category will have one lucky winner and three runners-up. Prizes will be presented by the Lord Mayor of Dublin and local firefighters in early December.

This year, they are shifting the submission to digital.  So all you have to do is SCAN your child’s fire safety picture in as high resolution as possible (max. 10MB per picture) to dfbcommunity@dublincity.ie. Also include the following details in your submission; School, Class, Teacher, Name, and Age. If there are a number of submissions you can email dfbcommunity@dublincity.ie and a link will be provided so you can upload all the amazing artwork.

The closing date for entries is Friday 28th October 2022.
