DUBLIN — LCC emerged as the champions of the Hats Cricket Tournament 2024, following a thrilling win against Dublin United in the final.
Held over two days, August 4-5, the tournament displayed some of the finest cricket of the season, culminating in a closely contested final.
In the final match, Dublin United set a challenging target with their strong batting performance. However, LCC’s determined response saw them successfully chase down the score, securing a thrilling victory.
Vishnu from LCC was named MVP, showcasing his all-round abilities throughout the event. Khalid Khan of Dublin United was adjudged as the best batsman, while LCC’s Jibran was recognized as the best bowler, underscoring his pivotal role in the team’s success.
This year’s tournament held special significance with the introduction of the Meenachi Sundaram Memorial Trophy. Dedicated to the memory of the former player who passed away earlier this year, the trophy added an emotional depth to the final.
It was presented to the victorious LCC team by Sundar Baskar and S/N. Maheswaran, President of Hats Cricket Club.
