A 24-year-old man has died following an attack at a Dublin hostel in the early hours of this morning.
A 40-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the attack.
A male was found with significant injuries at a location on Harrington Street in the south of the city at approximately 4.45 in the morning, according to Garda.
The man was brought to a local hospital once emergency services arrived, where he eventually passed away.
The location is presently being conserved for forensic investigations, according to a Garda spokesperson.
The State Pathologist’s Office has been notified and a post-mortem examination will take place later today.
An incident room has been set up and a senior investigating officer and family liaison officer have been appointed.
The man who has been arrested is being detained at a garda station in Dublin.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who has information in relation to this incident to come forward.
