A man in his 60s has died following a road crash in Cork on Friday.
The collision occurred in the village of Leap at around 11.30 am, The man was driving a van that struck a pillar on the N71 outside a private residence.
The man in his 60s was the sole occupant of the van and was seriously injured during the crash.
He was taken to Cork University Hospital, where he passed away overnight. No other vehicles or persons were involved in the collision.
Gardaí in Clonakilty are appealing to any person who may have information in relation to this collision to contact them.
Any road users who were traveling on the N71, the main road between Skibbereen and Clonakilty, on Friday between 11.00 am and 11.30 am and who may have camera footage, including dashcam footage, are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
