The department of health has launched a new online self-service portal for the Digital Covid Certificate in Ireland. The move comes after a wide range of complaints from the public regarding delays in issuing certificates especially via call centre system. The new poral https://covidcertificateportal.gov.ie/ can be accessed by the public to request for a new covid certificate as well as add or change information in the existing certificate.
Other than this, people can avail services like requesting the certificate to be emailed, check status of the applied certificate and apply for new certificate of recovery.
As the indoor hospitality returned in the country, the demand for Covid recovery certificates which show the person has recovered from Covid in the past 180 days, has dramatically increased. The department said it would be developing new channels to fulfill the increased demand as well as accepted the call centre system for certificate was not a good idea.
