Workers in the security industry in Ireland will see their minimum rates of pay go up from next month.
The minimum hourly rate of pay for an adult worker will rise from €12.90 to €14.50 after a new Employment Regulation Order for the sector comes into effect on July 1.
The move is expected to benefit approximately 16,000 security guards across the country.
The latest order has also set improved conditions for workers in the security industry, including an unsocial hours payment of minimum €12.60 per shift and rising to €16.80 in 2025 and €20.00 in 2026.
