Petrol and diesel prices continue to climb, AA Ireland survey reveals

Fuel costs have risen again this month, according to the latest AA Ireland Fuel Survey.

Petrol prices saw a modest increase of one cent, reaching an average of €1.74 per litre. Diesel prices climbed more sharply, with a three-cent rise, bringing the average to €1.71 per litre.

Despite the price hikes, crude oil prices remained steady at approximately $73 per barrel.

Electric vehicle (EV) drivers have also experienced a slight rise in costs. According to the survey, the average annual expense for EV drivers covering 17,000 km now stands at €816.62.

This increase reflects the growing operational costs of maintaining EV infrastructure, such as public charging networks.

AA Ireland’s report underscores the pressure on households managing rising transport expenses, especially as fuel price volatility continues. The cost of diesel and petrol remains a significant concern for drivers across the country.
