Ronald McDonald House to invest €66 million over 25 years in Children’s Hospital facility

The Ronald McDonald House Charities will commit €66 million over the next quarter-century to establish and maintain a new family accommodation facility at the National Children’s Hospital, according to recent financial projections.

Construction is well underway on the 52-bedroom residential center, which carries an initial construction cost of €28.47 million. The facility will feature private ensuite bedrooms for families with children receiving treatment at the new hospital.

The substantial €66 million long-term investment represents the charity’s commitment to operating costs, maintenance, and services beyond the initial construction phase, ensuring the facility remains available to families for decades to come.

Ronald McDonald House Charities specializes in providing comfortable accommodations near pediatric hospitals, allowing parents and siblings to remain close to children undergoing medical treatment without the financial burden of hotel costs or extended travel.

The new facility will significantly expand the charity’s capacity to serve families with seriously ill children from across Ireland who require specialized care at the National Children’s Hospital.

When completed, the residential center will become one of the organization’s largest family accommodation projects in the country, addressing a critical need for family support infrastructure at Ireland’s premier pediatric medical facility.
