Sinn Féin has pledged to deliver 50,000 affordable homes within five years if it comes into government.
Under its Alternative Homes Plan, the party aims to make property ownership accessible for working people once again, RTE reported.
The €13.2 billion proposal targets those who earn too much for social housing but cannot afford current market prices.
Sinn Féin believes affordable homes can be delivered for between €250,000 and €300,000, with the State covering land and related costs.
Additionally, the party plans to offer rental homes at or below €1,000 per month.
The party said a detailed and fully-costed five-year plan will be published early next month.
