Ireland’s Sports Minister Catherine Martin has canvassed for Jithin Ram, the Indian-origin candidate representing the Green Party from Lucan in the upcoming local council polls.
Martin, who was accompanied by TD for Dublin South West Francis Noel Duffy, visited the Adamstown Cricket Club in Airlie Park last week.
During the visit, Martin and Ram spoke on a wide range of issues, including the sports infrastructure development in Adamstown and Lucan. They also took to the field to play the game of cricket for some time.
Ireland will head to local council election on June 7 to elect 941 councillors across 31 local authorities. The results will also act as an indicator of public opinion across the country ahead of a general election within the next nine months.
