The majority of Status Red wind warnings have been lifted as the country begins to assess the widespread damage caused by Storm Éowyn.

The storm brought record-breaking gusts of 183 km/h, leaving over 800,000 homes, farms, and businesses across the island without power.
According to ESB Networks, around 725,000 customers in the Republic of Ireland have been affected, while approximately 93,000 homes and businesses are without electricity in Northern Ireland.
Speaking on RTÉ’s Morning Ireland, ESB Networks Manager Brian Tapley said it will take “at least a week” to fully restore power to all customers.
The energy utility described Éowyn as a record-breaking storm in terms of reported power outages, citing “unprecedented, widespread and extensive damage to electricity infrastructure.” They also warned of “significant further outages” as recovery efforts continue.
