Support for Fine Gael has been steadily rising while the approval rating for Taoiseach Simon Harris has also seen a significant uptick, according to a new opinion poll.
The latest Irish Times/Ipsos opinion poll shows a significant rise in support for Fine Gael, now the most popular political party in Ireland at 27 per cent, marking a four-point increase.
Sinn Féin, the main opposition party in Ireland, continues to lose ground, dropping three points to 20 per cent, while Fianna Fáil has fallen by one per cent to 19 per cent.
Meanwhile, smaller parties like Labour, the Greens, and the Social Democrats all saw slight gains, rising by one point each.
Support for Independents has dipped slightly, with a one-point drop bringing them to 16 per cent.
The poll also revealed a surge in approval for Prime Minister Simon Harris, whose personal rating rose by 17 points to 55 per cent.
Approval for the Irish government has also reached a two-year high, climbing to 40 per cent.
This improvement in public perception could add pressure on the coalition to call a general election, with increasing speculation that it may take place in November.
