A group of 4 volunteers are planning to conduct an online cultural program to celebrate the Bengali New Year ‘Poila Boisakh’ on 17th of April, Saturday from 3PM to 5PM. The actual date of Bengali New Year is 15th of April but the team of volunteers plans to organise the programme on 17th as it is a weekend which allow more people to attend the event.
The organisers expect nearly 80-100 families i.e. 200 people and all Bengali natives are invited from Dublin, Cork, Galway, Sligo, Donegal, Carlow, Monaghan etc.
Smt. Jayati Chakraborty, a well renowned Rabindra Sangeet artist is the chief guest. She will perform the songs written by the great Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore. The performance will last for an hour followed by the cultural events by the local kids in Ireland.
T.D Emer Higgins, councilors Punam Rane and Kazi Ahmed will join in the event. The director of IFFI, Mr. Siraj Zaidi, the president of VHCCI Dr. Hemant Kumar and the chairman of Eurasia, the largest multi-ethnic supermarket in Ireland, Dr. Jasbir Singh Puri will also be a part of the event.
