Popular television broadcaster Gráinne Seoige is set to enter the political arena. She has been chosen to represent Fianna Fáil in the upcoming general election for the Galway West constituency.
Seoige, a native of the Gaeltacht village An Spideal in Galway, was selected alongside Councillor John Connolly at a party convention in Oughterard on Friday night.
The well-known presenter, who has worked for major networks like TG4, TV3, RTÉ, Sky News, and Virgin Media, expressed her commitment to addressing key issues affecting the region. These include housing, planning, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and rural development.
Tánaiste Micheál Martin welcomed Seoige to the Fianna Fáil team, praising her strong connection to Galway and the determination she will bring to the campaign.
