Wholesale electricity prices remained unchanged in June compared to May 2024, and were 8 per cent lower than the same month last year, according to new figures from the Central Statistics Office.
The CSO, in its statistical publication, also noted that electricity prices have reduced by 40.7 per cent since June 2022, and have fallen 72.2 per cent when compared with the peak in August 2022.
According to the CSO, producer prices for food products increased marginally by 0.4 per cent in June on a monthly basis, but dipped by 4.4 per cent on an annual basis.
Producer prices for dairy products decreased by 0.3 per cent in June 2024, and have dropped by 13.9 per cent on an annual basis.
While producer prices for fish and fish products increased by 7.6 per cent, prices for grain milling, starches and animal feeds decreased by 5.3 per cent in the same period.
Overall, wholesale price inflation showed an increased in June 2024 with a rise of 2.3 per cent in the overall Producer Price index for manufacturing industries in the month, CSO figures noted.
