Garda is investigating an incident where a group of males threatened a woman with rape comments on DART in Dublin. According to a report by The Irish Times, a woman has been shouted rape threats by some men while getting off the DART on Wednesday night.
The CCTV of the incident is being verified and the Irish Rail said the details were confidential.
“An investigation is underway obviously to assist the gardaí in identifying those that were involved,” Barry Kenny, a spokesperson for Irish Rail said to News Talk.
“Nobody onboard should have to hear that, particularly our women that are travelling with us should not have to hear disgusting, disgraceful language like that.”
Fine Gael TD Alan Farrell was onboard the DART at the time of the incident and he took the Twitter handle to reveal what happened at the night.
“Chants of ‘let’s rape her’ were heard amongst lads, after lone women exited the train, before our final destination,” Mr Farrell said in a tweet.
