Met Eireann has issued a status yellow rain warning for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford on Christmas Day. The warning is in place throughout the day until 11 p.m.
According to Met Eireann, there will be persistent downpours and it may lead to localised flooding. Road users must be extra careful.
The highest temperature expected is from seven to 11 degrees.
