Met Éireann has issued yellow weather warnings for eight counties across Ireland today, with forecasters predicting heavy rainfall that could cause significant disruptions.

The national weather service initially issued alerts for Cork and Kerry, with the warning taking effect from midnight last night and remaining in place until 2 pm this afternoon.
A separate yellow alert has been issued for six additional counties: Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford, and Wicklow. This warning came into effect at 2 am today and will remain active until 5 pm this evening.
Met Éireann has cautioned that the heavy rainfall could lead to localized flooding in affected areas, potentially causing travel disruptions throughout the day. Motorists have been advised to exercise caution on the roads, as visibility is expected to be poor during periods of intense rain.
The weather service recommends that residents in the affected counties monitor local weather updates and allow extra time for journeys. Drivers should be particularly vigilant of surface water on roads and should reduce speed in hazardous conditions.
Authorities are urging people to take necessary precautions and to report any flooding incidents to local emergency services.
