The bank of Ireland is looking to take a variety of professionals including Technical Architects, Software Developers, Engineers, specialised Project Managers, Scrum Masters and Data Analysts.
Bank of Ireland’s primary focus for our customers and staff is to digitise our organisation to ensure that each touchpoint in our business is digitally streamlined and adds value. In order to achieve this ambitious objective they are looking for individuals with strong IT, digital and analytical skills.
It has announced plans to recruit 130 specialist technology professionals as part of an investment in its in-house digital engineering operations.Its technical modernisation plan – known as Project Omega – was launched in 2016 and is expected to cost up to €1.4 billion.Bank of Ireland has been investing heavily in a technology overhaul across its operations in recent years.
Jackie Noakes, Chief Operations Officer with Bank of Ireland said “”Right now, we have almost half a million log-ins to our mobile app every day. 80% of our loans to farmers happen online or over the phone. And contactless transactions have increased from 70 million a year in 2017 to 170 million in 2020,”
Bank of Ireland announced a voluntary redundancy programme last year that will lead to 1,700 staff departing before the end of the current year.The bank is also encouraging female technical professionals to apply for the newly advertised positions.
