In a significant disruption to Air India’s operations, approximately 70 services have been canceled due to a mass leave taken by the airline’s employees. The employees cited health concerns as the reason for their absence, but underlying dissatisfaction with Air India’s new labor regulations appears to be a driving factor behind the collective action.
Reports indicate that numerous senior cabin crew members opted for last-minute leave and subsequently turned off their phones, rendering communication with them challenging for authorities. Despite efforts to reach out, these employees remain unreachable. An Air India spokesperson has assured passengers that the canceled flights will either be substituted with alternative travel arrangements or refunded in full.
