Canadian tourist critically injured after assault in Dublin city centre

A Canadian tourist was left critically injured after he was attacked by two assailants in Dublin city centre in the early hours of Sunday, the Irish Mirror reported.

The man, who is in 40s, was attacked on Cathal Brugha Street, close to O’Connell Street, around 1am. He was understood to be battling for his life in Mater Hospital.

In a statement, Gardai said two suspects, aged 20s and 30s, were apprehended in connection with the incident. Gardai have also appealed to public to submit any camera footage, including dash cam, that they may have with regards to the incident.

Investigations are currently underway.
