Dublin Bus Adds Extra Services for Dart Closure Weekend

Dublin Bus is stepping up to ease the inconvenience caused by planned Dart closures this weekend. With upgrades to the Dart line from Grand Canal Dock to Bray in progress, southside Dart services and Dublin to Rosslare rail services will be affected from Saturday to Monday.

To meet the increased demand, Dublin Bus announced additional services on route 7, connecting the city centre to Dún Laoghaire, and the 155-service to Bray throughout the entire bank holiday weekend.

The closure’s timing coincides with Leinster’s European Cup semi-final against Northampton Saints at Croke Park on Saturday. With 13 stations closed, fans are urged to seek alternative transport options.

Irish Rail clarified that the closure was planned last December, before the scheduling of the Leinster game, and postponing the works would disrupt essential maintenance schedules.

Dublin Bus and Go Ahead will honor rail tickets and provide extra capacity. Additionally, for customers traveling between Dublin Connolly and Rosslare Europort, bus transfers will operate between Connolly and Bray in both directions.

While the May bank holiday weekend was chosen for the works due to the absence of major events, Irish Rail assured that future planning would consider events like concerts and sports fixtures.

Luas services will also accommodate rugby fans with additional capacity on match days, May 5 and May 6, with a revised timetable for all routes.
