Gardaí seek information on silver car after Cork shooting

Following a gunshot that occurred in Cork City in the early hours of Friday, Garda are appealing for information.

Between 4.45 and 5.45 in the morning, a gunshot occurred near Wilton Manor.

An incident-related injury to a man in his 40s is still being treated at University Hospital Cork. The garda stated that his injuries are no longer believed to be life-threatening.

An examination of the scene has been carried out, and an incident room has been set up at Togher Garda station.

Anyone who may have information in relation to the shooting it being asked to come forward.

Gardaí are particularly interested in information relating to the movements of a silver saloon car seen in the Summersown Drive, Summerstown Road, Wilton Court and Wilton Manor areas at the time of the shooting. It is assumed that the car left the area and headed towards Bishopstown.

Those with information, including anyone with camera (dash cam) footage from the area at the time of the shooting, is asked to contact Togher Garda station on 021-494 7120, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800-666 111, or any Garda station.
