Temperatures across Ireland are expected to reach as high as 21 degrees Celsius today in what Met Éireann describes as “very mild” conditions, before a shift to wetter weather begins tomorrow.

The national forecaster predicts mostly light southerly or variable breezes throughout Sunday, with only isolated light showers affecting western and northwestern counties. The warm conditions will provide a pleasant end to the weekend for most of the country.
Tonight will remain largely dry under broken cloud cover, though some isolated light showers may affect northwestern areas early on. Areas of mist and shallow fog are expected to develop overnight with temperatures dropping to between 3 and 7 degrees.
The pleasant weather will begin to change on Monday, which will start mostly dry with a mix of cloud and hazy sunshine. However, cloudy conditions with patchy rain and drizzle will affect parts of western Connacht and western Ulster initially, before mostly cloudy conditions develop nationwide with outbreaks of rain spreading from the southeast. Temperature highs will range from 15 to 20 degrees, though Atlantic coastal areas will experience slightly cooler conditions.
The outlook for early next week shows continued unsettled weather. Monday will bring a mix of cloud and sunny spells with showers merging into longer rain periods at times, with some heavy or thundery downpours possible. Tuesday will follow a similar pattern with a mix of sunny spells and rain showers, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms.
After today’s warm temperatures, people are advised to enjoy the dry conditions before the weather takes a wetter turn for the coming week.
