Man (20s) seriously injured in violent incident in Dublin; Hatchet and knife recovered from scene

A man in his 20s has been seriously injured following a violent incident at St Cuthbert’s Court in Clondalkin, Co Dublin, early Wednesday morning. Gardaí, the Armed Support Unit, and emergency services responded to reports of two armed men involved in a disturbance shortly after 6:15 am.

On arrival, officers discovered a man with serious injuries. He was treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Tallaght Hospital, where his injuries are understood to be non-life-threatening. A second man, also in his 20s, was arrested at the scene and is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda station in west Dublin.

A hatchet and knife were recovered from the scene, which has since undergone a technical examination. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Clondalkin Garda Station on 01-666 7600 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111. Investigations remain ongoing.
