Starting Monday, July 1, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) will launch a new version of the driver theory test in Ireland. According to Irish Mirror, this updated test will feature current road safety standards and laws, with new questions and images.
If you’re scheduled to take the test on or after July 1, ensure you have the latest study materials. Subscriptions on the RSA website will update automatically, but if you use the app or physical book, you’ll need to purchase the new versions. The RSA offers refunds for recent purchases of outdated materials.
For those revising older materials, the RSA recommends rescheduling your test for better preparation. You can reschedule or cancel your booking free of charge if done seven days before your test date.
The test format remains the same: 45 minutes to answer 40 questions, with a passing score of 35. The new book costs €21.99, and online subscriptions range from €23 to €41. The app, available for €16.99 on Android and iOS, offers the best value with mock tests and progress tracking.
Be cautious of unofficial apps and websites that do not contain the official test questions. For more information, visit the RSA website.
